Biomass- How it works...

The basic principles of Biomass can be explained quickly and simply:

Biomass boilers are designed to burn wood fuels such as wood pellet, wood chip or logs. This generated heat is transferred in to water which is used within heating systems, the heat produced from Biomass is often classed as Carbon Neutral as the wood used can be re-grown.

With the boiler brand we work with, an Austrian brand ETA, the boilers are around 94% efficient, have automated feed and cleaning systems as well as a sophisticated control platform offering an overall high quality and reliable heating solution.

Benefits of Biomass

High flow temperatures easily achievable; meaning no radiator upgrades, making Biomass extremely suitable for larger older properties.

Ideal for properties with their own woodland, making fuel costs very low.

With high quality Austrian boilers, emissions are taken seriously, using new technology (Electrostatic precipitators) any particulates are captured and sent to the ash box, meaning they operate cleanly.

As the timber used is often from sustainable forest methods, meaning when trees are cut new ones are planted, biomass is known as carbon neutral, making it rather environmentally friendly also.

With the Government's BUS scheme you may be eligible for £5,000 assuming your property is not on a gas grid and is also classed as rural.

Biomass will virtually work on all properties, it can provide 85degC which means it can be a like for like replacement heat source for gas/oil.

There have been many news articles which call biomass "dirty" but it has been proven many times that Biomass is actually very clean and in most cases cleaner than gas/oil.

With Biomass you have multiple options for fuel, Wood Pellet which is very automated, wood chip which can be created on site and also log which is available from many locations.
